ADULT JU-JITSU The core of the program at the Martial Arts Academy is the teaching of Dan Zan Ryu ju-jitsu, an eclectic, very comprehensive, system composed of at least a couple thousand techniques founded by Professor Henry Seishiro Okazaki. In keeping with the philosophy and intent of Professor Okazaki, the student is taught complimentary techniques from other systems in addition to the formal lists of techniques (see below)which comprise this system. These other arts will include Chinese long-fist boxing, Shaolin kung-fu, Thai boxing (Muay Thai), and Phillipino stick and blade fighting (Serrada Eskrima).
WEAPONS CLASS (stick and blade) The primary focus for this class will be Phillipino stick fighting (Serrada Eskrima). In the beginning this will include single and double stick fighting techniques using 26 inch to 36 inch weapons, later, this will progress to machetes and dagger instruction. This class also includes instruction in 4 foot stick, long staff, and other weapons.
